Skoda wants to sell 10,000 cars

Skoda plans to reach an annual sales volume of 10,000 units in Romania, within two years, as compared to about 6,300 units last year, the head of the Czech carmaker's operations in Central and Eastern Europe, Lubomir Kopecky, stated on Friday, in Bucharest. "We are satisfied with car sales in Romania and we believe they will advance so that we may reach a sales threshold of 10,000 units per year, in about two years," Kopecky stated. He considered that the launch of the Dacia Logan model would not harm Skoda sales, since the Romanian car market has a high growth potential. In his turn, Skoda's sales and marketing vice-president, Fred Kappler, said sales in Romania were among the best results of Czech carmaker on foreign markets, as the company's share of the Romanian market stands at over 6%.
