Petrom, the biggest company in Romania - a part of the Austrian group OMV, is one of the tenants on the market of office space in the Capital. The petroleum company has class A office space rented, which covers up to 17,000 square metres, vying with mobile telephony operators Vodafone and Orange. Petrom currently operates in several locations - in the Dorobanti 239 building on Calea Dorobantilor, where 5,000 square metres have been rented, as well as in the Bucharest Corporate Center building (7,000 square metres), in JW Marriott Hotel (for the marketing division) and in Charles de Gaulle Plaza (for the gas division) respectively. If taking into consideration the prices on the market of class A office space, then Petrom is paying some 4 million euros each year for the buildings rented Bucharest. Rep resentatives of the petroleum company analysed the situation and announced at the beginning of the year that Petrom would start an investment project to build the future headquarters of Petrom outside of Bucharest, named Petrom City.
