Tiger Somes boosts production capacity

Dej-based Tiger Somes Dej announced an investment programme worth approximately one million euros, which will help the packaging facility reach a production capacity of 90% against the 50% capacity it currently has. "We intend to acquire an automated line that applies polyethylene extrusion coating to paper and an automated ink mixing station this year. We also intend to create a few new products, among which flexible multi-layer packages that would act as protection barriers for vacuum packaged products and for products in the pharmaceutical industry," stated Mircea Itu, general manager of Tiger Somes. The production growth will in its turn lead to an increase by 37% in turnover against last year, to 11 million euros. "The estimated trend is tightly connected with investments in developing production facilities, as well as in extending our collaboration with our foreign partners from France and Germany. Unt il this year, our company only delivered part of the raw materials to our customers from these countries, but starting this year, we will deliver finite products to these customers," Mircea Itu added.
