The Cluj-Napoca international airport intends to build a new departures terminal through an investment of around 20 million euros, with works expected to start this year and end in 2008. The company, which will handle the work will be selected following a tender, the general manager of the airport, David Ciceo, told the MEDIAFAX agency. Two companies have registered for the tender. Their bids were supposed to be opened yesterday, with the winner to be named within the next few days. "The new terminal is needed due to the continuous increase of air traffic. Last year, the airport had almost 250,000 passengers, up 21% on 2005. For 2007, we estimate a total of 330,000 passengers, and by 2012, we could reach the 1 million-passenger mark," said Ciceo.
