Deva-based Eurosport DHS, which produces bicycles, estimates an approximately 11.4 million-euro turnover this year, which accounts for an 80% rise in financial indicators against 2006, when the company posted sales worth over 6.3 million euros. "The positive trend of turnover for this year will largely depend on increasing our exports and number of clients in Romania, especially the number of young consumers of sporting equipment. Currently, we account for 70% of the Romanian bicycle market, and expect this percentage to rise in the near future," Lucian Contras, executive manager of Eurosport DHS, told ZF Transilvania. Exports account for 50% of the company's total turnover. In 2006, the company invested over 1.5 million euros in renovating its buildings and in modernising its equipment, with this year's development plans and investments including consolidating its transport capacities. At the end of 2005, the company completed the construction of a bicycle manufacturing plant in Deva, following a 5 million-euro investment.
