Yamaha importer: 13m-euro turnover

Motordynamics Romania, the official importer to Romania of Japanese Yamaha motorbikes, scooters and outboard motors, estimates turnover worth 13 million euros this year, up 27% against the 10.2 million euros posted in 2006. "Last year, we derived 6 million-euro turnover from motorbikes and scooters and 4.2 million-euro turnover from outboard motors. I estimate this year will fetch us an 8 million-euro turnover from motorbikes and scooters, with around 5 million euros generated by outboard motors," said the general manager of Motodynamics Romania, Bogdan Iliescu. Therefore, the company's overall turnover could increase by 27% and reach 13 million euros, from 10.2 million euros last year. Yamaha's distribution and servicing network in Romania comprises 25 centres. Mot orbikes and scooters sales went up 78.7% in Romania last year and reached 3,141 units, according to data from the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association.
