Romtelecom brings German manager on board

Wolfgang Breuer, 44, former vice-president of Deutsche Telekom for Central Europe and CEO of T-Mobile Croatia has been recruited by Romtelecom for the position of chief executive of technology and operations. He took up the position on August 1 and is part of the top management team, which consists of ten managers, the chief executive included. Breuer will coordinate several thousand people and will be in charge of infrastructure development and implementation of new technology for the largest local fixed telephony operator. Romtelecom has an over 170 million euro budget for investments this year, a significant part of which will go to the network. To be able to cope with the harsh competition, Romtelecom replaced its top management team entirely in mid 2007, after the change of CEO operated by the Greek OTE group, the majority shareholder in the spring of that year.
