President Traian Basescu warns ministers over difficult year ahead

President Traian Basescu warned ministers that 2009 would be a difficult year, in an informal meeting, which took place last week in Sinaia resort. "The discussion covered general topics, with the president warning ministers that this year would be a difficult year due to the economic constraints, but said he hoped problems would be overcome by the Government, partly with the help of Parliament," said sources who attended the meeting, quoted by Mediafax news agency. The president had previously been present at the first meeting of the Emil Boc Government. The Sinaia meeting was attended by Prime Minister Emil Boc, by Cabinet ministers, chairmen of the two Chambers of Parliament, Mircea Geoana and Roberta Anastase, as well as by the heads of the secret services.
