Almost 170m-euro turnover for MAN importer

MHS Truck&Bus, importer of MAN trucks and coaches on the Romanian market, controlled by businessman Michael Schmidt, who also owns Automobile Bavaria, posted an over 613 million-RON (166.6 million-euro) turnover in 2008, its first full year in business on the Romanian market, according to representatives of the importer. The company was set up in the summer of 2007, whilst previously the import of MAN trucks was handled by Automobile Bavaria. In the last six months of 2007, MHS Truck&Bus turnover amounted to 170.2 million RON (60 million euros) on the Romanian market, up 40% on the previous year. The largest player on the market of commercial vehicles is Cefin, an Iveco dealer, which posted around 300 million euros in turnover last year, according to company officials.
