Corsar Grup: Cel.ro is for sale, but only if the price is right

Corsar Grup, owner of cel.ro, the third largest online IT&C store on the Romanian market in terms of 2008 turnover, is for sale, but a prospective transaction will be sealed only for "the right price", say officials of the retailer. "We have received several propositions, one of which from New Century Holdings / Broadhurst investment fund, which we might take up," Tiberiu Pop, CEO of Corsar Grup told ZF in an email interview. "The only way an investor will buy into cel.ro is if they pay a price that is right," Pop added. Both Tiberiu Pop and Mihai Nenciu - owner of Corsar Grup - are two extremely low-profile businessmen, who have only given email interviews so far. Representatives of American-held New Century Holdings, whose Romanian operations are run by Siminel Andrei, could not be contacted for comment by the time the story was ready for print.
