Broker Cluj is currently focusing its strategy on attracting young, well-informed clients, who trade online, as well as on "awakening" the firm's thousands of inactive clients, says Grigore Chis, general manager of Broker.
"We are now looking to change our strategy because four or five years ago clients targeted by all retail brokerage firms were clients who are now over 60 years old and who were in managing positions, managers of enterprises, university professors, doctors. Now, clients we are focusing on are 25 to 45 year-olds who practically make up the growing middle class in Romania. They are also very well-informed," Grigore Chis says.
He says the firm is currently seeking to approach people who take risks and who take their cue from the West, who dream of sending their children to study abroad, who have already outlined a financial plan and place their money in investment funds.

"As far as I know from my friends, they allocate between 10% and 20% of their yearly earnings for the Stock Exchange and are willing to invest on long term, not stick to a bank deposit."
