One of the few sectors which is still hiring, that of outsourcing and of call centres, has announced two major recruitment campaigns: ING Asigurari (ING Insurance) will hire 1,000 staff at an operational centre in Cluj over the next three years, while British company XL World, specialising in outsourcing and call centre services, will hire between 250 and 300 people by the end of the year.

"We intend to hire around 300 employees for our regional services centre in Cluj-Napoca. The number of new employees will reach around 1,000 by 2013," say the officials of ING Asigurari, leader of the life insurance market. The company is seeking to hire speakers of English, Slovak, Polish, Hungarian and Greek for back office life insurance jobs in the operations, financial, and IT departments. The 1,000 employees will work for ING insurance companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Greece, and Spain.

British-held XL World is also looking to hire a few hundred staff. "We are mainly looking to recruit contact centre operators, with the basic requirements for the job being advanced knowledge of a foreign language, team spirit, reliability and communication skills," says Anelia Trifu, account manager with XL World.
