The salaries of IT specialists working in the companies in Western Romania will see a two-digit increase this year and in 2011, given that software companies anticipate they will give all their employees a 14 to 18% raise.

Programmers are among the employees least hurt by the crisis, given that software companies continued to raise salaries by up to 9% last year, reveals a survey of human resources consultant AIMS Human Capital on 26 software development companies in Western Romania, which total 5,500 employees.

"One third of the participants (32% i.e.) stated they had a salary raise policy in place for all employees this year, while 83% renegotiated the base salary with each employee," said Serban Mrejeriu, consultant with AIMS Human Capital Timisoara, who coordinated the salary survey.

IT employees, along with those in the pharmaceutical industry, are the least affected by the economic context.
