HR department leaders should be closer than ever to employees during crisis periods. HR specialists say there are ways to boost employee productivity and commitment, without major costs. "The HR department should work very close to the business to aid it sail through these periods of uncertainty. HR people should not necessarily work more, but more wisely," said Anouk De Blieck, a Human Resources Director for CEE with Citibank during the conference titled "The DNA of people one should keep in the company to successfully overcome the crisis", organised by Ziarul Financiar together with Citibank, in partnership with Mastercard, Medlife, Schoenherr si Asociatii, ASEBUSS, Total Soft, Yourway Counseling and Vapro. In the opinion of Ruxandra Stoian, a partner and HR consulting services manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, employers should focus more on the effort employees are now making, and not necessarily on results, to keep them motivated. Another way to boost employees' commitment is through benefits packages, which can be recalculated.
