The Romanian IT market will rise by 5-10% this year and everything depends on the country's economic growth, maintains Mihai Guran, country manager of Dell, one of the world's biggest PC manufacturers. "If the economy expands by around 2%, as some experts anticipate, it's clear the IT market, closely tied to the real economy, will also grow considering most orders come from the segment of SMEs. If they fare well, the market will also fare well," stated Guran in an interview with ZF. He added he expected the market to go up by between 5 and 10% this year. Dell's Romanian turnover is expected to rise by 7-8 or 10% this year, the company's official also said. According to Guran, Dell Romania last year saw the number of sold units drop by 46.8% from 2008, but the decline was lower than the market's contraction, of 55.8%. The company's market share expanded, though, from 9.1% in 2008 to 10.9% in 2009, with Dell ranking fourth on the domestic market of PC manufacturers.
