Brinel group, a major domestic player in the IT&C field, announced Brinel PC Prod company had temporarily suspended operations for a three-year period until March 17, 2013. According to Brinel representatives, this decision was made in order to shun additional charges, useless in the current crisis situation. At the same time, Brinel management said that as part of the group's revamping process, the operations of several companies part of the group were frozen, but chose not to specify the value of cost savings resulted in the wake of these moves. "Besides Brinel PC Prod, the operations of other unprofitable companies part of Brinel group were also suspended, but we did not give up production, though it shrank considerably and now accounts for less than 10% in total turnover of Brinel. If the market picks up in the future, we'll reconsider the decisions made with regard to suspended companies. We haven't and we won't make any brutal headcount cuts in the following period, we'll focus on system integration instead of production, so that we also have several new projects fro this business line," Marcel Borodi, Brinel owner and chairman, told ZF Transilvania.
