Romanians pay 10m euros for attic windows a year

The Romanian attic window market is valued at 10m euros annually and a volume of around 40,000 units, with the average price per window revolving around 250 euros, according to the estimates by Final Distribution, importer of Keylite windows in Romania. "In terms of value, the market revolves around 10m euros annually, according to our estimates. The market is, however, below the level of markets in the region and of Western European ones, and presents an extremely high growth potential. For this year, we target market share of at least 5%, around 2,000 sold units, respectively," stated Dan Mircescu, owner of Final Distribution. Thus, Final Distribution sales on the segment of attic windows are likely to amount to some 500,000 euros this year. "In 2010, we want 10% of turnover to be generated from the window segment," Mircescu added. The company's turnover may revolve around 5m euros this year, up almost 20% from the 2009 level.
