Software Development & Consulting (SDC) domestic software and services provider, a company controlled by Omnilogic IT&C distributor, reported 80% higher turnover in RON last year, to 51m RON (12m euros), from 28.4m RON (7.7m euros) in 2008. In euros, the annual increase amounted to over 50%. Mihai Popescu, general manager of the company, says in an interview with ZF that the figure was partly triggered by the strategy defined in 2006, when SDC's majority stake was taken over by Omnilogic. One of the elements that brought the 80% turnover increase, according to Popescu, was the promotion of services in a "software as a service" system. The first clients for this type of service appeared in 2008, and in 2009 companies reacted very well to this type of message. "This service was for us one of the performance keys in 2009 and we hope it will be an important driver in 2010 as well, which will not be an easier year," he also said. The company plans to hire between 10 and 20 people this year. "We're hiring in 2010 because we want to expand our business (...)," Popescu added.
