Poland's Enterprise Investors investment fund, which has so far invested over 105m euros in Macon building materials business, is in talks to buy an ACC producer and is also preparing an investment from scratch. The Polish fund has set the end of 2012 as a target for the expansion of the ACC business and will subsequently make its exit in 2013-2014. Enterprise Investors plans to acquire or build from scratch a new ACC plant in the next two years, besides the two plants it already owns in Deva and Oradea, reunited under Macon brand, already the leader in ACC producers' ranking. The ACC business weighs 55% in total turnover. "After the operational reorganisation of Macon Grup, in the wake of Simcor Grup's acquisition in 2008, is completed, the medium-term strategy (2010-2013) entails gaining a stronger position on the domestic market, including thus the development of the main business lines of Macon Grup", says Marius Marin, CEO of Macon group. According to its strategy, the company plans to build or acquire a third production facility by late 2012, in the eastern or southeastern part of the country, currently uncovered by Macon.
