Romanians increasingly keen on working with experts on interior decoration

Interior design specialists say Romanians have become much more interested in interior decoration in the last few years, as increasingly more of them are willing to pay an interior designer to furnish their home, writes Business Construct magazine, which will appear on the 1st of July together with Ziarul Financiar.

The average cost of an interior decoration project is 200-300 euros/square metre, with luxury projects costing as much as 1,000 euros/square metre, and architects' fees accounting for 5-15% of the investment. Architects say Romanians tend to come prepared, gathering their information either from specialised magazines, or from international interior design fairs. Unlike Europeans, who prefer as simple a design as possible, Romanians appear to be more inclined towards opulence, even if it is not representative of their lifestyle.

Romanians' tastes for interior design are very different from those of western-Europeans, with Romanians opting more often for spectacular decorations, which, however, leave to be desired both in terms of appearance and in terms of quality.
