Canada's Celestica hires 900 people

Canadian supplier of electronic equipment parts Celestica, owner of a plant in Bihor county started from scratch in 2004, employing 1,600 people, plans to hire another 900 people by yearend, as it expects production capacity to double. Celestica's 100 worldwide clients include Alcatel Lucent, HP, Honeywell, NEC or Ploycom. "Since the start of the year, more than 200 people have already been hired. Our plan is to boost the number of clients and we may hire more people," stated Codruta Bala, HR manager with Bihor-based Celestica plant. Ads regarding vacant positions at the plant have been posted on websites, as well as on the company's website. "We're seeking personnel for the manufacturing, engineering, procurement, planning, financial and logistic departments. In general, we're looking for university graduates, but no previous experience is necessary," Celestica Romania's HR manager also said. According to the Finance Ministry website, Celestica Romania in 2007 generated 156m-euro turnover, and this is the only data available so far. Worldwide, Celestica has 32,000 employees and 6.1bn dollar turnover.
