Companies that granted pay raises in 2010
Between 100,000 and 200,000 people working with domestic
companies have enjoyed a salary hike by at least 6% this year, with
forecasts for the second half of the year and for 2011 being ever
more upbeat, say employers and HR specialists. Procter &
Gamble, Kraft Foods Romania, Dacia, Den Braven, Wrigley, Adobe, and
Agricover are just a few of the companies that have continued to
grant pay raises this year, too, with raises ranging from 3% to
15%. While employers that granted two-digit increases have been
fewer than in previous years and have as a rule offered hikes
depending on each employee's performance, projections for the
second half of the year and the next year are more optimistic.
Employers believe they will offer bigger salary increases in the
second half than they had projected in the first three months of
the year as they have budgeted or already granted salary hikes 10%
above the ones estimated in March, according to a survey conducted
by Consulteam and Mercer HR firms among 150 companies, mostly
multinationals.
