CEZ Czech energy group, present in Romania since 2005 when it took over the majority stake in the former Electrica Oltenia, says that starting the end of June 47 wind mills of the 114 installed in Fântânele, Dobrogea, have been generating energy and hopes to finish installing the other 101 turbines in Cogealac in 2011, despite the conflict it has with the town hall.

The international press has reported on the conflict, which ended up in shooting at the end of last month. Despite the conflict, which has delayed works in Cogealac, due to start at the beginning of the year, the Czech group says that the 101 windmills will be installed in 2011.

Overall, the two wind farms in Fântânele and Cogealac will have a capacity of 600 MW, almost equalling that of a nuclear reactor of Cernavodă station.

"For the moment, we do not have any news. We're working with the same security firm and awaiting the conclusions of the official investigation," stated Iulia Borşan, head of the external communication department with CEZ Romania.
