Last good news before slumps: New car registrations down only 2% in July
Car registrations in July posted the slimmest decline this year,
of just 2%, to almost 10,400 units, according to statistical data
provided by the Driver Licenses and Vehicle Registration Department
(DRPCIV), a trend coming amid the rising car sales in June.
In their turn, sales in June advanced by 12% as people rushed to
buy cars given the announcement on VAT hike.
The brand boasting the highest level of registrations was Dacia,
with almost 3,900 units, followed by Skoda with around 1,100 cars
and Renault with almost 900.
As for the market of used car imports, it expanded by almost 33%,
this year's biggest increase, to almost 15,200 cars. Volkswagen is
still in the lead, with almost 4,300 cars, followed by Opel, Ford
and BMW and Audi premium brands.
Duster SUV registrations in July topped 500 units for the second
consecutive month, as almost 700 units were delivered to clients in
June.
