Plans of the new head of UniCredit's corporate division
Encouraging customers to turn more towards exports,
strengthening assistance to those facing insolvency, and raising
the degree of sophistication of financing products to big customers
are among the priorities of Gianfranco Bisagni, 52, who officially
took over the corporate investment banking and private banking
division of UniCredit Ţiriac Bank.
He was appointed executive vice-president in April, after the
departure of Melih Mengu, who returned to Turkey, and has recently
been approved by the NBR (National Bank of Romania).
"Since I came to Romania I have met with several customers and
brought up the option of developing exports. I think a lot can be
done in this respect, even in the case of companies that have yet
to export, because this can compensate for the market lost as a
result of the recession," Bisagni says.
On the other hand, the head of the corporate division of UniCredit
Ţiriac Bank says he wants to bring foreign investors to Romania
using the bank's strong presence in Italy, Germany, and
Austria.
