US Ixia overshoots 200-employee mark at Bucharest software centre
Ixia US company, which entered Romania in 2004 by acquiring a firm that had a software development centre in Bucharest, has discreetly got to over 200 employees and a 7m-euro turnover and plans to recruit further, Teodor Ceauşu, manager of the US firm's Romanian operations, told ZF in an interview.
In Romania, Ixia employees are mainly involved in the
development of equipment and software testing Internet
communication networks. Ixia's clients are equipment producers such
as Alcatel Lucent and operators such as Orange, Vodafone or
Deutsche Telekom.
Ixia does not currently work with any Romanian equipment producer
or communications operator, but the company is trying to expand its
sales.
Last year, Ixia reached turnover almost 30m RON (7m euros) in
Romania, and this year the company counts on revenues worth 35m RON
(over 8m euros).
In 2010, Ixia raised its number of employees by 20% from late 2009
and plans to increase its headcount by a further 6-7% by
yearend.
