Three entrepreneurs seize last opportunity to get EU money
Ana Imep, Polisano, and Ecopack, held by businesspeople George Copos, Ilie Vonica and Vladimir Cohn, respectively, are among the 36 big enterprises selected to receive non-repayable EU funds out of 186 projects submitted. In all, the three companies are set to receive 33.96 million RON (8 million euros) from the EU.
The projects of Romanian entrepreneurs and of foreign-held
companies seized the last opportunity to receive EU funding,
because the entire budget allocated by the EU until 2013 for big
enterprises, 110 million euros, has run out in the wake of this
selection. Companies were able to request up to 20 million RON (4.7
million euros) in non-repayable funding to build production
facilities and to acquire equipment.
Companies that failed to receive money from the EU include
Antibiotice Iaşi, Azomureş, Collini, Soceram, Prefabricate Vest
Patru and Vrancart, because they did not get the rating necessary
to obtain the funding.
