Citroen wants to boost its market share in Romania from 1.8% in the first nine months to 5%, the CEE average, a level it will reach only if its network expands further.

Bruno Bloquel, a deputy sales manager for Northern and Eastern Europe with Citroen, plans to step up the development of the brand's network in Romania to bridge an over 3% gap between its current share and the regional average.

"In Romania, we have a market share below the one of other countries and this is why there's a very high growth potential and implicitly many interested investors. For this reason, we have the most ambitious and the most necessary plan to develop the dealership network in Romania," Bruno Bloquel said.

Citroen network this year added two new locations domestically, one in Constanta and one in the northern part of Bucharest. Thus, the network has come to 21 centres, covering 18 cities.

"The fact that two new centres were opened this month, and in August we lost a centre to Ford are normal movements on a car market. (...)",Bloquel said.
