Lazăr's transportation business returns to growth
Businessman Ion Lazăr, who controls road transportation business International Lazăr Company, estimates the company will post a 5% turnover increase this year, after a year 2009 when the company's turnover fell by nearly 20%, to 30 million euros.
Given the circumstances, Lazăr has started to once again think
about expanding the lorry fleet, planning to acquire around 100 new
lorries in a year's time. International Lazăr Company holds a total
of 310 vehicles, 292 of which are big, 20-tonne lorries and 18
commercial utility vehicles, according to information on the
company's website.
Apart from these, Lazăr also has a 50-truck fleet branded with the
company's logo, which are operated under franchise.
"We intend to expand our truck fleet starting in the second half of
next year and in the first half of 2012, when we plan to acquire
100 new trucks. For the time being we don't need a larger fleet,"
Lazăr said. Lazăr, Romtrans and Edy Spedition are the largest road
transportation companies on the Romanian market which, after seeing
their turnovers fall drastically in 2009, are now unanimously
talking about a 10-15% rise against 2009.
