Burger King opens restaurant in Piaţa Romană between McDonald's and KFC
Fast-food chain Burger King, with around 3 billion euros in
turnover on the Romanian market, opened its ninth restaurant in
Romania in Piaţa Romană (Bucharest) and plans to continue expansion
over the course of next year, when sales are expected to be 40%
higher.
Burger King opened the company's first high street location in
Romană, sandwiched between main rivals - McDonald's and KFC, in a
space previously occupied by Everest restaurant.
"I expect next year's turnover to be 40% higher than this year's,"
says Marius Nasta, founder and president of Atlantic Restaurant
System (ARS), the Burger King operator in Romania.
He says his expectations are based on several factors, among which
the intention to see an aggressive expansion next year. However,
company representatives did not reveal the number of spaces planned
or the investment budget. The investment in a Burger King
restaurant ranges between 0.5 to 1 million euros, depending on the
location and the area involved.
