Mihai Tudor climbs up IBM's corporate ladder
Mihai Tudor, 50, who had been running the domestic subsidiary of US IBM giant since July 2006, has been appointed general manager of the world's biggest provider of IT services for SE Europe. He will be in charge of the overall business in five countries, namely Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia.
During Tudor's term with IBM Romania, the company's turnover
went up from 39m euros in 2006, to 51m euros in 2009, and the
subsidiary's number of employees more than doubled, to over 500
people. Moreover, IBM strongly developed its outsourcing and IT
services centres, a unit where another over 1,000 people work at
present, particularly for Western European clients. Also, IBM last
year operated another major investment in Romania, taking over the
operation of Petrom's data centre.
Mihai Tudor has been working for IBM since 1993, a period during
which he filled several positions, inclusively outside
Romania.
IBM's new CEO is Bogdan Balaci, who has worked with the IT services
provider since 1999 and who filled the sales manager position.
