Are IKEA orders on the rise? Jucu furniture supplier hires 160 people

Ecolor furniture producer, owner of a plant in Jucu, Cluj County close to Nokia manufacturing centre, wants to hire around 160 people this year, to reach a 400 headcount.
At the same time, the Cluj-based company plans to expand collaboration with IKEA and build a new production facility.
"The plan is to boost the number of employees from 240 persons at present to 400, by yearend. A project related to a new production facility is also due to be launched," stated the representatives of the accounting and HR department of Ecolor.
Ecolor management chose not to provide additional information on the value of investments, the surface area of the new production facility or its production capacity, saying it would provide such details later.
The company in 2009 completed investments of around 3m euros to build a production facility, according to information previously provided by Ecolor representatives. Over the past four years, the company has operated various investments to expand the plant in Jucu and to buy new equipment.
