Negriţoiu, ING: I have no term limit
Mişu Negriţoiu, who in summer will have run ING Bank Romania for
five years, says he does not have a management contract for a
definite period of time of three or five years, as is the rule on
the market, and that he will stay in this position as long as the
Dutch are satisfied with the generated results.
After 14 years with ING, with the last five as a CEO, Negriţoiu
says the job is keeping him "fit". "There is always something new
to do".
His main task has been to build the universal bank critical mass on
the rapid upsurge of retail operations.
"I am highly satisfied with the current position of ING. It is a
sound, clean business, with all the business lines, with simple
products and a very good awareness, double the market share".
He says the bank has a "quite ambitious" growth plan for the next
five years in Romania, which is set to be delayed, though, by the
prolonged recession.
In Negriţoiu's opinion, the major achievement of recent years has
been growth on the retail segment, which has come to match the
corporate unit in terms of revenues.
