The general manager and another two members of the top management team of NextGen, a cable TV operator owned by Romtelecom, have been replaced with one of the best-known figures in the Romanian cable TV industry, who worked in the past for RCS&RDS, Astral and New Com.

The new general manager of NextGen is Sorin Cristescu, a former operations manager with Astral. He replaced Tomas Chadzivasilis. Andrei Creţu, a former regional manager with RCS&RDS, was appointed head of operations, and Răzvan Brezeanu, a former manager with Astral and New Com, took over the position of commercial manager.
NextGen, an experiment Romtelecom launched in 2008 to compete with district networks and cable companies, last year reached 240,000 telephony, Internet and television subscriptions. The company has particularly grown through acquisitions, around ten during the entire year, becoming a client base growth pool for Romtelecom.
The expanding client base and the aggressive growth targets set for the following years are among the reasons that led to the appointment of a strong team of cable industry managers at the helm of NextGen, says Ovidiu Ghiman, an executive commercial manager with Romtelecom, and also NextGen's board chairman.
