Wizz Air and Blue Air low-cost carriers are set to add 12 and respectively 7 new flights to their network by yearend, with only three of them to be operated from Bucharest's Băneasa airport, while the rest of flights will be introduced from airports of Bacău, Târgu-Mureş, Cluj and Constanţa.

While both companies fly toward most international destinations from the Băneasa airport, which they entered with the first flights six years ago, these also targeted airports outside Bucharest, where they are poised to cement their position.

"Blue Air will introduce five new flights from the Bacău airport, one from the Constanţa one and one from the Băneasa airport. We are expanding on the routes where we have demand for," stated Florentina Ivan, PR manager with Blue Air.

Hungary's Wizz Air will also add new flights to its network from airports outside Bucharest.
