Heineken Romania, producer of Golden Brau, Ciuc and Bucegi brands, announced a 7% turnover increase in 2010, to a gross turnover of 1.2 billion lei (267 million euros), while volumes sold went up 6% against 2009.

"In 2010 Heineken Romania posted a 7% turnover increase against 2009, despite the downward trend of the Romanian beer market," said Jan Derck van Karnebeek, managing director of Heineken Romania.

On the other hand, the company's net turnover amounted to 934 million lei (222 million euros), with the difference between the gross sales and the net sales being accounted for by the excise duty.

The rise recorded by the producer was driven by Ciuc Premium and Bucegi brands, with the company to export other international brands in the group's portfolio, as well, as of April: Amstel, Birra Moretti, Kusovice, Foster's, Murphy's, Strongbow, Sol and Desperados.
