Lawyer Francisc Peli, who together with wife Carmen Peli, Cristina Filip, and a group of another 11 lawyers, founded a new law firm almost three years ago, called Peli Filip, now admits it was difficult to get the firm going, with the firm currently among the players that can get involved in almost any type of case.

"There was a difficult time between November 2008 and May 2009, when we were in the early stages, and had a limited client base: nobody was interested in a new law firm. Since then, however, we have been on a continuous upward trend. We ended 2008 with 30 clients and now we have over 250," Peli told ZF in an interview.

The firm's policy is not to supply data on the company's turnover, but in terms of the number of lawyers, Peli Filip is a top ten player, according to data on the website of the Bucharest Bar Association. The firm currently counts 40 lawyers and is set to reach 45 this summer, by recruiting fresh law school graduates.

He runs the law firm alongside the other four partners of the firm, who share administrative jobs, but continue to work as lawyers, because they believe it is important to keep in touch with the clients essential for the firm.
