Romania joins group set to decide new financial order in Europe
Adriana Tănăsoiu, general manager of the Central Depository, was
selected in the Securities and Markets Stakeholder think tank, part
of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and will
thus participate in the building of the new framework of regulation
for European capital markets where hundreds of billion euros are
traded.
More than 200 financial institutions, stock exchanges and ruling
authorities across Europe, including the large investment banks,
competed for a seat among the thirty that are available within the
Securities and Markets Stakeholder think tank.
The think tank is in charge with the implementation of reforms on
European capital markets, such as those related to stock,
derivatives and compensation.
The head of the Central Depository, the institution carrying out
payment operations linked to stock transactions sealed on the
Bucharest Stock Exchange, was selected on the basis of her
CV.
Adriana Tănăsoiu, 46, is the only Romanian present in this think
tank, which includes such members as Xavier Rolet, London Stock
Exchange CEO, Sally Dewar, general manager of JPMorgan, Roland
Gaston-Bellegarde, an executive vice president with NYSE Euronext.
Within the group, she will represent financial market
participants.
