Agricola Bacau poultry producer boosts exports to 20% of its business
9 mar 2010
Agricola Bacau, the second-largest poultry producer after
Transavia, increased the percentage of exports from 12% to almost
20% of its production in the first two months of this year and
expects a 17% rise in RON-denominated turnover against last year.
"The analyses of Romanian's consumption behaviour conducted
over the last few years indicate an increased preference for
poultry, a cheaper alternative to pork or beef, for instance. So
Agricola Bacau's strategy for this year is based on a reality: the
poultry market is on the rise, both internationally, and in
Romania, and our target is to use this opportunity to streamline
operations of our poultry business line," said Grigore Horoi,
chairman of Agricola Bacau group, the main local exporter of
poultry.
That is why Agricola Bacau exported almost 20% of its
production in the first two months of this year, by delivering to
new clients in the UK, Greece, and Bulgaria, as well as boosting
deliveries of frozen meat to older markets (Germany, the
Netherlands, France etc).
