BCR, the biggest bank in the system, is restructuring 5,000 real estate loans and 15,000 unsecured consumer loans for the clients who have been having trouble repaying their monthly instalments, says Martin Skopek, executive vice-president in charge of retail. The value of these loans could reach approximately 275 million euros, considering the average amount of a loan. Skopek did not specify the amount of restructured loans, but said that the average value of the loans backed by real estate collateral stands at 40,000 euros. Under the circumstances, restructured real estate loans should stand at about 200 million euros. Taking into account an average value of 5,000 euros for consumer loans, the value of the restructured receivables on this segment reaches 75 million euros. "To clients having trouble paying their instalments, we offer solutions, which include consolidating their debts to other banks. However, they have to be open and consult with us on their financial situation," Skopek says, adding the restructured credit situation was "fluid".
