FirstFarms buys another 1,400 hectares

29.07.2008, 20:14 30

Danish FirstFarms, a farming and livestock raising company, has signed an agreement to buy Italian-held Agrisole Bucharest, which has more than 1,400 hectares of agricultural land leased in the south of the country. "At first, Agrisole's business consisted of grain cultivation, but lately we've just been buying land. The majority shareholder of the company is Italian and no longer wanted to go on holding land in Romania, especially because of his old age," said the representatives of Agrisole, a company established in 2002. According to data on the Trade Registry website, Agrisole is managed by five Italian investors, and the majority interest, 65% is held by Vincenzo Cappellini. The 1,400 hectares of land, which have been leased so far, are located in Surdila Greci, near Faurei, Braila county.
