The salaries of the 460 employees of Generali Asigurări(Generali Insurance), one of the top 10 companies on the Romanianinsurance market, are 6% higher than the market average.
"The average gross salary within the company was 4,000 RON(2,806 RON in net amount) in 2010. The package of benefitsincludes, aside from insurance and private pensions, luncheonvouchers and medical subscriptions, an Easter bonus of 350 RON anda birthday bonus of 500 RON," said Lidia Marin, head of the humanresources service within Generali Asigurări, a company controlledby the Italian group of the same name.
The average net salary in the insurance sector was 2,618 RON inNovember last year, more than two times higher than the average netsalary in the economy, according to data published by the NationalStatistics Institute. Salaries of employees in the insurance sectorare comparable with those in the IT or tobacco sector, which havein the past few years been among the highest-paid employees in theeconomy.
