Google, owner of the world's most popular search engine, will organise a seminar in partnership with the National Association of Travel Agencies in Romania (ANAT) next week in Bucharest, to promote Romanian tourism within the "Holiday Market" travel fair.
The seminar titled "Google and Tourism: The challenge of online advertising and sales" is organised by ANAT in partnership with Google Ireland (the subsidiary that also handles Romania). The event, which will be held at the Parliament Palace, will discuss means of promoting and distributing travel offers via the Internet.
According to Olivia Popescu, communication manager of Ralcom, the company that organises the seminar, Google, ANAT and Ralcom came up with the idea for the seminar together.

Why is Google organising the seminar? "Google wants to promote Romania's image, but it will also promote its AdWords system (whereby companies can advertise themselves on Google). Romania is a big country with potential, the largest in the region after Poland," Traian Badulescu, ANAT spokesman, told ZF.
