H&M to hire 300 Romanians by yearend

Swedish giant H&M (Hennes & Mauritz), one of the world'sbiggest clothing retailers, will hire 300 staff by the end of theyear, to add to the existing 100-employee team, who largely fillmiddle-management positions.


"By the beginning of this year, we had recruited around 100employees in Romania. In 2011 we intend our recruitments to matchour expansion plans, with the number of new employees depending onthe number of stores we will open. What we can say at the moment isthat we intend to recruit at least another 300 employees by the endof the year," said H&M representatives.
The new employees will be sent for training to Poland andSwitzerland, with benefits including voluntary private pensions.Net salaries of sales assistants in such retail stores rangebetween 1,200 and 1,400 RON, according to market information.
Retailers such as C&A and Zara have between 25 and 45 employeesper each store of over 1,000 square metres.
