Snagov review: Who leaves the Government and who stays?
31 aug 2010
The Boc 4 Cabinet could undergo its first reshuffle today, after the premier presents a review of the ministers' eight months in office.
One last analysis was conducted at a Cotroceni meeting between
the head of Government and President Traian Băsescu yesterday.
The
head of state will be present at tonight's meeting behind closed
doors at Snagov Palace, which will bring together the Government
and PDL (Democratic Liberal Party) parliamentary groups. This would
be the third time in two months when Traian Băsescu presides over
the meetings reuniting ministers, MPs and PDL leaders.
According to announcements made this summer by the head of state
and the premier, what will count most heavily in the evaluation is
how the ministers restructured the sectors they manage and how they
have cut costs.
Over 10,000 jobs have been cut in ministries this summer as a
result of the Government's plan to cut budget spending, but there
are also ministries that failed to come up with reorganisation
plans.
