Two former Rompetrol and Metro execs take over NordSee distribution
30 nov 2009
Dorin Gherman, former CEO of Rompetrol, Ionut Memetea and
Marius Cliseru, set up DeSee Distribution in September this year,
which handles import and distribution on the Romanian market of
Deutsche See products. Deutsche See is the leader of the German
fish and seafood market and owner of the NordSee restaurant chain.
The three entrepreneurs say the company will become leader of the
fish market over the next three years, a market they put at a few
hundred million euros, without, however, revealing their sales
target for this period. "The company's capital is 100% Romanian at
present, but within no more than six months, Deutsche See will take
over 51% of DeSee Distribution. We made this decision together with
Deutsche See, because we know the Romanian market very well," said
Marius Cliseru, general manager and shareholder of DeSee
Distribution. Marius Cliseru has 13 years of experience at the
local branch of Metro retailer for which it worked until September
of this year. During this period, he ran the group's Sibiu store
and the one in Bucharest's Militari district. Over the last three
years he filled the position of head of the HoReCa (hotels,
restaurants and catering) division, according to information
provided by him.
