Ixia US company, which entered Romania in 2004 by acquiring afirm that had a software development centre in Bucharest, hasdiscreetly got to over 200 employees and a 7m-euro turnover andplans to recruit further, Teodor Ceauşu, manager of the US firm'sRomanian operations, told ZF in an interview.
In Romania, Ixia employees are mainly involved in thedevelopment of equipment and software testing Internetcommunication networks. Ixia's clients are equipment producers suchas Alcatel Lucent and operators such as Orange, Vodafone orDeutsche Telekom.
Ixia does not currently work with any Romanian equipment produceror communications operator, but the company is trying to expand itssales.
Last year, Ixia reached turnover almost 30m RON (7m euros) inRomania, and this year the company counts on revenues worth 35m RON(over 8m euros).
In 2010, Ixia raised its number of employees by 20% from late 2009and plans to increase its headcount by a further 6-7% byyearend.
