A personal exhibition signed Vladimir aetran

Today, at 6. p.m., one of the most important exhibitions of this spring opens under the patronage of the Culture Ministry, Plastic Artists Union and the National Office for Documentation and Art Exhibitions. The event is a personal display including paintings and sketches by Vladimir aetran and it is hosted by Sala Dalles.

Born on March 23, 1935 in Romania, Vladimir aetran is one of the most important painters of the moment. He studied painting with Professor I. Marsic at the Institute of Fine Arts "Nicolae Grigorescu" that he graduated in 1959 with a bachelor in Fine Arts. Since 1957, he has attended several important exhibitions in Romania and abroad and he began a solid educational career in 1964, now being a Professor at the Design Department, University of Arts, Bucharest.

aetran is well-known here as the author of several parietal setting art works and tapestries, and as a four times recipient of some prestigious awards received from The Professional Romanian Fine Arts Association. His art works are the pride of several private and public collections and museums from Romania, France, the USA, Turkey, Italy, Austria, and Germany.

For the painter Vladimir aetran, the spirit of the moment is the one that really counts, because the immanent structure of the pictorial expression is dictated by the so-called aesthetic "caprices' of the moment. Psychological affinities rearrange the works of aetran in a folder preeminently romantic. The lyrical emotion and the feelings, transposed on canvas in shapes of great liberty, reject any relation to geometry or rationalist constructions.

Astonishing are the moments of colourful exaltation, in which daring juxtapositions grant the coherence of the ensemble of his works. As a good handler of the mechanism of pure abstraction, Vladimir aetran masters as well the naturalist imagery, formerly materialised in diverse socio-politically commanded works. But not a single moment 'that circumstantial painting" altered the artist's subjectivity. He was and continues to be an abstract artist governed by a pure sensitivity.
