Chio considers production expansion

Intersnack Romania, the producer of the Chio snacks, estimates a 30% increase in its turnover this year based on an increase in consumption, leading company representatives to consider increasing production in the forthcoming period. "We are considering expanding our production capacities in order to be able to meet demand over the next few years, but currently we are not involved in any specific project. For the time being demand is met by our current production capacity," said Christian Rey, general manager of the company. Last year, Intersnack derived turnover amounting to 62.6 million RON (17.3 million euros), an increase of 34% on 2004. According to information on the Ministry of Finance's site, the company logged profit worth 1.35 million RON (375,000 euros), up almost ten times against 2004. Com pany representatives did not disclose further information on the company's financial situation.
