Orkla Foods Romania expands business

Norwegian food company Orkla Foods Romania aims at consolidating its position on the Romanian market, after taking over the margarine and mustard division of Topway Industries two years ago. "We will complete negotiations to take over another Romanian-based plant in March, when we sign the purchase contract," Aliz Kosza, general manager of Orkla Foods Romania, told Ziarul Financiar. The Romanian branch of the Norwegian producer will take over, in one month, the equipment of the fruit and vegetable processing company JM Group Romania SRL. Orkla officials would not volunteer any more details about the transaction, but Kosza added the company "has always been open to new acquisitions." ZF
